Volunteering in Telford and Wrekin (and further afield)
The definition of volunteering used in the 1997 National Survey of Volunteering is " any activity which involves spending time, unpaid, doing something which aims to benefit someone (individuals or groups) other than or in addition to close relatives, or to benefit the environment".

You may be unemployed, retired, returning to work, or wanting to gain experience for your CV. Perhaps you would like to devote some of your spare time to helping others or to put something back into the community. Whatever, your motivation for volunteering we can help.

How Do I Find Out About Volunteering?
There are various ways to find out more about volunteering opportunities. The Telford and Wrekin Volunteer Centre contributes to the national database of volunteering opportunities at www.do-it.org.uk. On this website you can do a search by entering your postcode, areas of interest and how far you are prepared to travel. You are then presented with a list of options. If you are interested in an opportunity you can register online to express an interest. The organsition/s of your choice will then send you further information or begin the recruitment process.
